Choose a useful target
One or two pages is a useful starting point for many applications, not an absolute limit. Follow the vacancy instructions and allow more space when the role needs a detailed record.
Adjust the layout without losing facts
Compact import and Full CV both retain the imported content. Compact changes the presentation; it does not guarantee a two-page result or decide which experience to remove.
- Open Layout and review Length & readability. Check the measured page count and any overflow warning.
- Try Apply compact layout. Review sections and shorten repetitive wording yourself; keep text readable.
- For manual layout work, choose Full CV at import. You can adjust the layout later in the editor.
- Preview and export the CV. Open the PDF and check every page for cut-off text, awkward breaks and blank space.
Make skills and experience easy to scan
Prioritise skills relevant to the vacancy and use short, specific labels. Group related skills, and demonstrate them with truthful examples in your experience. Keep language levels accurate.
The readability panel flags long skill items, dense roles, long summaries and repeated bullets. These are editing prompts, not hiring scores. Review AI suggestions individually; do not accept unsupported qualifications or numbers.
